I may have spoken too soon about the battery indicator: this time, when the iPod said it was fully charged, I unplugged it and it showed three-quarters. Still, that's better than showing almost empty.
(It reminds me of the gas gauge on my car: you have a drive it a few feet before it registers accurately.)
