My daughter has autism, and his reaction to this stuff seems very similar to what happens to her when she gets an overload of sensory stimuli. I wonder if he has a mild case of Asperger's Syndrome?

It's possible. There do seem to be various conditions that make this kind of reaction to overstimulation more likely, but I think it's also one of those things that can just happen to anybody once or twice in a lifetime. This guy seems to have been something of a pop-culture-trivia obsessive, which may have contributed.
