Thanks for writing this. I marked the day (s) in my own way. The Challenger disaster is our generation's JFK assassination in that we can recall immediately and exactly where we were and what we were doing on that day. During STS-114 I was on the edge of my seat watching closely, very much afraid something would happen upon re-entry. I didn't truly relax until I saw it come to a complete stop after landing which is very unusual as prior to the past two disasters I had taken it for granted that nothing would go wrong.
