Pair of jacks

I think I was intentionally using Schultzian proportions with the one on the right. Then the other one was sort of its diabolical little brother.

Before now I've always carefully plotted out my jack-o-lantern faces with a pencil sketch. But this time I just started right in with the knife.

Pumpkin On The Right is everyone's friend, a jolly chap who's easy to get along with and always ready to lend a hand, regardless of his questionable dentition and Pac-Man eyes.

Pumpkin On The Left dares you to set things on fire.

The one on the left reminds me of Belkar Bitterleaf from Order of the Stick, somehow.

Now that you mention it, it does.... hmmmm....

The one on the left looks vaguely Jhonen Vasquez-esque, but in a good way.

Both are solid efforts of which you should be very proud.

Yes, I think I was probably directly influenced by both Jhonen Vasquez and Bill Watterson.

...Now that I think about it, the thing about Vasquez is that he really likes polygonal shapes and angles. Which means that a vaguely Invader Zimian style is really good for shapes you're hacking out of a vegetable with a knife.
