Nestor's gastrointestinal tract

samantha2074 posts the cat-feces news, but I've got the breaking story this morning. Nestor's various inappropriately placed deposits are probably mostly because of chronic problems with constipation. He'll go whenever the opportunity arises, because if he misses that train it might not be back for a while. So the vet has us feeding him what amounts to Kitty-Lax, which seems to be almost identical to a hairball remedy: basically flavored Vaseline plus castor oil, soybean oil, and an iron supplement.
The stuff seemed to have no visible effect for the first week or so, but today the floodgates opened. Mostly on the carpet next to the litter box, but I'll give him points for a good-faith effort, since I was cleaning out the box at the time.
Not only that, he also vomited up one of the biggest hairballs we've ever seen. So the gunk is apparently doing double duty.
He seems a lot happier now. I know I'd be.
