I managed to impress Brad DeLong with my explaining powers via a thread on the role of virtual particles in attractive forces, which is good since the articles he pointed to are ones that I'd never had any evidence any non-scientist appreciated. He reciprocated for the physicists by writing this interesting explanation of (1) the effect of high crude oil prices on oil company profits and (2) possible reasons why corporate policy became so much more shareholder-driven at the end of the 20th century.
