If your photo editor of choice is Photoshop rather than GIMP, you might prefer ArsTechnica's introductory photo editing guide to mine. Theirs is worth reading in any event. I like their extensive explanation of why the simple brightness/contrast controls that many programs have don't produce good results.

Several people vehemently and passionately agreed. They really, really, really, really hate people who push elevator buttons that are already lit. Some of them want them to catch diseases.

I want to publicly apologize to [livejournal.com profile] kerri9494 about the plate of taquitos. I was very sleepy, and on some level I think I thought she was warning me not to take the thing.

My parents used to spend a week or two at the beach in Lewes, Delaware every summer. I'm amused to find that in the DC comics universe this seems to be the current location of Metropolis.

(Apparently this location is not actually canonical but was a creation of Mayfair Games...)
