beamjockey discovered that CERN has a whole FAQ devoted to answering questions about CERN and antimatter inspired by Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. It is a deadpan masterpiece.I also heartily recommend
beamjockey's timeline of the use of antimatter in science fiction, with special emphasis on Jack Williamson's Seetee stories (which I never got around to reading). He has some addenda here, and muses a little about the Star Trek connection (though antimatter in SF was pretty old-hat by that point).
