Chicken Heart returns!

Fans of old-time radio, things that scare Bill Cosby, and giant mutant organs rejoice!

I'm going to be performing at Arisia in the Post-Meridian Radio Players' production of the 1930s radio drama Chicken Heart, directed by [livejournal.com profile] audioboy and also featuring such luminaries as [livejournal.com profile] derspatchel and [livejournal.com profile] samantha2074, reprising my unforgettable role as the Panicky Lab Assistant. Showtime is at 2:00 PM on Sunday, with panel to follow.

I'm probably going to be around on Saturday as well, though plans are up in the air...

That's awesome! Any chance it will be recorded?

You'd have to ask [livejournal.com profile] audioboy about that...

In the hullabaloo to get the show organized and the schedule worked out, I didn't want the added stress of trying to organize a recording. We recorded our performance back in October* and we're going to take it into the studio over the next couple of months to give everyone some studio experience and provide ourselves with a strong demo.

However, if anyone wanted to come in and take care of recording it, that would be fine by me. Right now it's all I can do to keep from become one great big ball of stress. ;)

* You can find the recordings here: http://tinyurl.com/8xusn : scroll down to Live Shows : the 31 MB file is the best quality).

...The performance also features live sound effects co-performed by [livejournal.com profile] kalibex who stepped in on short notice, and a very special message delivered by Kibo.

I grew up listening to vinyl album recordings of Bill Cosby and the Chicken Heart is still a favorite. Hearing him is always funnier to me than seeing him, maybe because that's the way I first became aware of him. My siblings and I still use some of that recording of his as family "memes:" Snakes, I'm going to stick out one toe just give it a little snakey lick", or something similar to that.

I never knew until recently that he was talking about a real show.
