Stephen Fry now has a blog and it is well worth reading. His latest article is a long meditation on fame, and the public strangeness associated with being famous.

Fry's take on the quirks of "talents" is considerably more sympathetic than Charlie Booker's. You do watch Screenwipe, right? It's worth watching even if you don't care about television.

YouTube is missing one ten-minute section of a second season episode, probably because it discussed pornos and showed people out of sync with their clothes. Not finding that section had me twitching with frustrated completism and titillation, but I like to pretend I recovered from the disappointment instead of falling into a spiritual abyss from which only my dulling Doppler-shifted wails of sterile despair can ever emerge.

Anyway, Screenwipe is pretty funny. It's also confusing to see someone who made his reputation (at least the Internet version) writing web pages look as comfortable on television as he pretends he isn't.
