One thing I really wanted to try out was Vi Hart, Andrea Hawksley and Henry Segerman's browser game Hypernom, which would have worked great with the viewer in stereo mode, were it not for one large problem: with such apps as Chrome, it seems to be impossible to get my phone (a Samsung Galaxy S7) to lock itself in landscape mode. The only options provided by the OS are autorotation and portrait. And the game's implementation of VR stereo absolutely requires the screen to have landscape orientation, while the gameplay involves contorting about to rotate your head in strange ways, exploiting the natural mapping of the group of rotations in 3D space onto a hypersphere. The jumps into portrait mode were disruptive.
