Iteration N+1

Sam managed to harass the insurance people sufficiently to get the latest in a series of profuse apologies, an acknowledgement that indeed we no longer owned the car for which they were charging us insurance and had absolutely no further relationship with them, an assurance that it was all taken care of, and our removal from their automatic payment system.

Today, they sent us a bill for a gigantic sum of money.

Sometimes the obtuseness of large organizations amazes me.

Heh.

The last time a large company did that, I treatened to sue them. That worked rather well.

oddly enough, that company went bankrupt last year (not the one I used to work for, that other one.)

This kind of nonsense happened all the time at Blockbuster. On Tuesday we remove someone's fee because we screwed up last Friday. On Wenesday they call us up mad because they got the bill that was sent out on Monday.

I'd say that was the cause, except in this case the sending of the bill was clearly caused by our removal from the automatic debit system. There would have been no reason to send it earlier; they'd just debit our bank account.
