I got one of these last year -- from your description it sounds like the exact same model probably. The side effect I didn't anticipate was my eyes are gunkier in the morning. I assume the extra air pressure in my sinuses causes this somehow, and I called the CPAP people at some point and they confirmed that this was normal.
I got a fancy new iPhone with the creepy facial recognition feature shortly after I got the CPAP, and had to teach it what I looked like with the mask on.
I've been pretty successful with it -- I think the improvement has been so gradual that it was hard to notice at the time, but I've slept without it a couple of times recently and I can really tell the difference then. The sleep test was incredibly uncomfortable and I hated it, which I worried would mean that I also would hate using the CPAP machine, but it hasn't turned out that way.
