This is another old SF story taking place in an entirely male universe--I'm not sure a woman is even mentioned in either volume.
While all the foreground characters are white, and Native Americans are mentioned only as a quickly dismissed obstacle, there's an interesting moment in From the Earth to the Moon in which Verne approvingly mentions that the paid labor force that actually builds the space-gun is racially integrated.
