FSII for the Atari ST was awesome, and I spent many hours in college playing it. While the gameplay wouldn't be smooth by modern standards, it felt incredibly fluid compared to the early IBM PC and 8-bit versions.
It was actually far more advanced than the first couple of versions of MSFS, and the 8-bit FSII versions. Artwick should have called it Flight Simulator III because it was most of the way to being MSFS 3.0.
