They really shouldn't have done live window resizing. Nobody cares about your live window resizing. Make it optional and turn it off by default. Use a friggin' rubber band already if the computer isn't a speed demon.

(The Mac version uses a rubber-band resize if and only if the visualizer is on. Maybe that's a viable workaround?...)

Umm, i can resize my window, although only by the thingy in the corner, and not via the usual Windows methods. Is that what they mean?

iTunes is pretty neat, although it does lack a Stop button. And Semagic can't detect the music playing on it yet.

What they mean is that it redraws the window continuously during resizing instead of using a rubber-band line. This is cool-looking, but incredibly CPU-intensive and bogs down on slow machines.

The thingy in the corner is a Macism. The user interface in general seems to be a direct transplant of the Mac one except for a few small changes, e.g. the differently placed title bar buttons and the Windows-style menu bar. The use of Mac interface standards instead of Windows ones is a user interface design no-no; in general it's better to use OS-standard widgets; but people don't seem to be complaining that much about it.

Windows has an option to show just the rubber-band line, but i'm guessing this means iTunes ignores the setting. I have the rubber-band thing off, because i don't care about my CPU cycles.

It makes sense that i, but not others, would complain about the Mac interface, but since that's how they also do it with QuickTime, it's not inconsistent. Lamers.

The other thing to consider is that MP3 players on Windows have historically had some of the weirdest and most nonstandard interfaces in the name of coolness. People switching from things like WinAmp may consider iTunes' choices sedate.

True, although iTunes is not llama-approved, sadly.

When it first appeared on Macs, there were widespread complaints that it was not skinnable. There ensued a debate over whether this was really bad.

Hmm, I don't know whether it ignores the rubber-band setting or not.

I have confirmed that turning off the "Show window contents while dragging [moving or resizing]" feature works when you move the iTunes window, but not resizing.

I'd be complaining, but I won't be downloading.
