Presidential race predictions

1. I predict a bumper market in predictions.

2. Many of the predictions will be wrong.

3. When the eventual Democratic nominee becomes clear, some supporters of all of his opponents will come forth with plausible-sounding arguments that their guy was the only electable one, which then degenerate into depressive ranting.

4. The Democrat wins.

I'm pretty confident about all of these except for #4. Thought I'd stick my neck out on that one.

I think #4, like #1, is in the bag. I can't recall the last time a Republican won the Dem's party nomination. Some would say the Republican Party won when McGovern won, and I would be one of those people, but still, the candidate was a Dem through and through.
