Bonneville Crater
Mar. 15th, 2004 11:54 pmMeanwhile, on Mars, the little crater that the Spirit rover has been trundling toward for some time might not be scientifically interesting enough to explore for long, but it has provided one of the best-looking landscapes to come out of the mission so far. It's not exactly Monument Valley (landing robots in the really majestic Martian terrain is hard), but there's a nice sense of scale. That thing on the opposite rim is the rover's heat shield.
