More infallible political predictions

1. Over the next couple of weeks we will see yet another round of "Bush surging again" articles in the newspapers.

2. They will have an extremely thin factual basis: small upticks in several job-approval polls (Fox's might even top 50 percent!) combined with the authors' horse sense of what ought to be happening in the wake of the Reagan funeral.

3. Nevertheless, they will produce an outbreak of depressive moaning from Democrats.

4. The whole episode will be forgotten by July.

<karnak type="amazing">Right. Because by July, folks'll be jawboning about the interest rates that will have just gone up, and gasoline prices, which will have just come down. Interest rates won't be Bush's fault -- we have to stop evil inflation, which of course is still ALL! CLINTON'S FAULT! But the lowering of gasoline prices will be all because BUSH IS GRATE.</karnak>

I found your website on my way somewhere else and saw that your Wife is friends with EJR. EJR was my 8th grade teacher in 85-86 and was probably my favorite teacher of all my educational experiences. She had a sincere love for all her students that was tangible. I left NH for Alaska 7 years ago and it was nice to see a picture of her on your website.
