I scratch this on the wall in the hope that my ability to write in the first person will imply existence of a point of view.

When I was working on the psychophanotoscope I said that we'd developed a true physics of consciousness. We could tell a mind from a simulation of a mind, however perfect. Of course, it was also a spook's dream. A side effect.

Eleven percent of the population couldn't be scoped. What to do? Redefine terms! You don't have rights if you're not conscious!

Here I am at Camp 39. Hello to all the true humans.

This was perhaps inspired a little too much by Tony Daniel's Superluminal, which I just finished reading.

That's the series. Superluminal is the second volume; Metaplanetary was the first. And I SMELL TRILOGY!

They're OK. The setting is good and imaginative; sometimes Daniel's writing seems a little rushed and synoptic for the gigantic scale of the story he's trying to tell.
