For a while they just sat in Pierre Ménard's Labyrinth of Food, pulling greasy French fries out of a paper cup. Corinne looked into her souvenir mirror. It didn't look like a different person.

"The scenery's nice, anyway. Not like the Library."

"I liked the glowing fruit."

"You weren't supposed to eat those."

"Oops, the bus leaves for the Circular Ruins at two."

"Let's ditch it this time."

So they did.

Which reminds me... is it just me, or did Richard Feynman come up with his "sum of histories" theory after reading Borges's "Garden of Forking Paths?

I kind of imagined it more as a package tour of various Borges worlds, which had become somewhat dependent on the tourist trade and clotted with festival-marketplace shopping areas in the inner harbor region.
