Another blog plug

I was going to link to a number of things on his blog, but then I realized that I'd basically be linking to everything he wrote lately, so instead I'll just say that Mark Schmitt's Decembrist blog is one of the very best politics blogs in existence, just in case you don't know about it already. It doesn't get a lot of buzz, probably because he's one of those people who thinks out loud about policy and strategy instead of writing screaming jeremiads. God knows there's a place for screaming jeremiads, but I read enough of them and I start feeling insane and have to reach for the Decembrist instead. An interesting running theme of his lately is the question of how and whether progressive politics can adapt to, instead of just lamenting, a world in which people don't want to join traditional membership organizations.
He also links to this lovely evisceration of the aphorism "the Chinese symbol for 'crisis' is 'danger' plus 'opportunity'".
