Word processing for cheapskates
Feb. 6th, 2005 01:27 pmAbiWord for the Mac has made enormous strides since the last time I downloaded it. It's actually sort of Mac-like now. As the site warns, it still has a lot of cosmetic document-redrawing bugs, but it seems to work otherwise.
As I said before, I never really warmed to WYSIWYG word processors, and I suspect that I'll always use something like a text editor for banging out large amounts of text (if only there were a universal interchange format for italics). But it's useful to have something that can print out fancily formatted documents in a pinch, and you can't beat the price.
