Donate frequent flyer miles

Some airlines allow you to donate frequent flyer miles to the American Red Cross; they use the tickets to get disaster relief workers to the scene. Given that I've never actually managed to use those miles for anything, it sounds like a good thing to do with them.

Alternately, airlines could let the rescue workers fly for free anyway.

Yes, and I suppose they might anyway, though maybe not given that they're all in trouble right now. These frequent-flyer programs have been around for a while.
