Just seems like another name for overstimulation -- a phenomenon with which I am intimately familiar.

My daughter has autism, and his reaction to this stuff seems very similar to what happens to her when she gets an overload of sensory stimuli. I wonder if he has a mild case of Asperger's Syndrome?
