Via Teresa Nielsen Hayden: The Crystal Cave of the Giants.

It sounds as if actually seeing the crystals takes some dedication; it's 150 degrees Fahrenheit and steamy in there, so staying for any significant length of time will kill you pretty effectively. I sort of hope they don't try to make the place much easier to visit; it sounds as if the nearby Cave of Swords has sustained some damage.

Crimminy.

Yes, on the fatal conditions = maybe good? front. I sort of like the story of the miner who snuck in anyway, with plastic bags full of air.

Maybe someone with a special air-conditioned suit can spend more time documenting the place.

"Selenite, the gypsum crystal, named after the Greek goddess of the moon due to its soft white light, is said to have many metaphysical and healing benefits. It is believed that this crystal assists with mental focus, growth, luck, immunity, and soothes the emotions."

Oh, man...

Ah, well, I guess it doesn't assist with mental focus enough to keep your brain running at 150 degrees.

Yeah, you could cut irony here with a butter knife...

65 degrees and steamy sound like the average Finnish sauna, and people can stay in those for significantly more than 10 minutes. I think these people are just WIMPS!
