This Making Light thread on the Hurra Torpedo kitchen implement/plumber's crack version of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" has spawned a thread trying to make sense of what the heck was going on in the original Bonnie Tyler video.

I think we have just found the Internet's true purpose.

I opened all 4 links at once (I love tabbed browsing-- thanks Opera), thinking that only one of them, the Hurra Torpedo link, was a youtube video. Natually both videos started playing at the same time, and I wondered at the surreal video which was made extra surreal by the playback of the original song.

Maybe I haven't read far enough, but so far nothing has taught me how to eradicate the "Old School" version that's being inflicted on karaoke-bar patrons everywhere.
