Baby comes home

We got discharged from the hospital Friday evening, with baby checking out five by five, all systems go. Last night was pretty difficult, especially for Sam; Jorie's continued her in utero schedule of maximum wakefulness between about 1 and 6 AM. A major distinction between her up and down times is whether failure to latch when feeding causes her to scream or fall asleep. Now that she's zonked again, Sam's getting some rest. We're fortunate enough to have Sam's mother (who is a trained perinatal nurse and lactation consultant) over to help us for the moment.

I've got a lot of raw images I'm going to get around to webifying sooner or later; the Marjorie gallery on LJ Scrapbook will be the place to look.

Squee! Tiny human! How amazing. I notice all ten fingers are accounted for, I assume the toes are as well. Oh, excitement! You'll all get used to each other, it's just going to take some time. Meanwhile, may you get as much sleep as possible...both of you!

She's amazing. And I guess you, like me, will never get tired of seeing your daughter.
