Some have attempted to resolve the spider issue via alleged Google hits. Current statistics seem fairly dramatic:

"itsy bitsy spider" - about 360,000
"eensy weensy spider" - about 47,600
"insy winsy spider" - about 3,030
"teensy weensy spider" - about 2,870
"insy weensy spider" - about 174
"eensy beensy spider" - about 91
"inzy winzy spider" - about 72

though all caveats about Google "about X hits" numbers apply, especially given that the alleged number of results changes dramatically as you click through the pages.
