Something davetheinverted said a while back reminded me that Claritin is now (a) non-prescription and (b) available in generic knockoff form.

Just took the pill. We'll see if my allergies bother me tonight. I'm sick and tired of being zoned out on Benadryl.

Well, I had trouble sleeping, but I think it was just withdrawal symptoms from going off the Benadryl, which is effectively a sleeping pill. On the other hand, the loratadine did its intended job well, and though I didn't get many hours of sleep, I also don't have that Benadryl next-morning narcotized feeling that makes it hard to get up.
