Beagle 2 separates

The European Mars lander has successfully gotten away from the Mars Express spacecraft (which snapped a picture), and is on its way to its landing attempt on Christmas.

Hopefully I won't have to do a "poor puppy!" post if it crashes instead of landing properly on Christmas day.
