Several of the stellations of the icosahedron would make excellent Christmas ornaments, if somewhat labor-intensive. I'm thinking that No. 36 (by this numbering scheme, which is idiosyncratic) would actually be feasible, if someone had the patience to glue together 60 of those spiky shapes.

Date: 2004-11-22 11:42 am (UTC)As I recall it involved only twelve pieces. Looked pretty good, though I did it fairly hurriedly and it wasn't as neatly done as it could have been. And I used ordinary bond paper (pieces printed in gold on my computer's printer), so it wasn't particularly durable.
Another year I did a unit origami piece for the treetop, which actually survived a few Christmases.
